A trade mark is any sign which can distinguish your products and services from those of others. This may include words, pictures, logos or a combination of these. Basically it is a badge of origin enabling customers
to recognise the product of a particular trader.

To be registrable, a trade mark must be:

distinctive for the goods and services which you are applying to
register it for

not deceptive or contrary to law or morality

not similar or identical to any earlier marks for the same or
similar goods or services

We provide pre-registration searches to reveal any similar existing trade marks and establish the chances of success for your application. This will be objected to if it is descriptive, deceptive or conflicting with an earlier mark. Fees refer to UK registration only.
